GS-07 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: (1) Collecting financial data to support budget formulation and execution within established guidelines; (2) Tracking expenditures to ensure compliance with approved budget allocations and identify potential discrepancies; (3) Preparing routine budget reports for review and approval by senior analysts; and (4) Reviewing budget requests to verify accuracy and consistency with organizational policies and procedures. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).

Education: One full academic year of graduate-level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)

Superior Academic Achievement: Successful completion of all the requirements for a bachelor's degree with Superior Academic Achievement. In order to be creditable under this provision, Superior Academic Achievement must have been gained in a curriculum that is qualifying for the position to be filled, such as that identified in Education above. GS-09 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: (1) Verifying budget submissions to ensure alignment with organizational goals and financial policies; (2) Identifying discrepancies in budget execution to recommend corrective actions and resolve funding issues; (3) Preparing financial reports to support funding requests and justify budgetary needs; (4) and Providing recommendations to management on budgetary matters to enhance financial decision-making. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position, such as financial management. Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. GS-11 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: (1) Conducting comprehensive analysis of financial data to ensure accurate reporting and execution within budget systems; (2) Developing budget schedules to support and defend funding requests for higher-level management review; (3) Interpreting financial regulations to ensure compliance with applicable policies during budget formulation and execution; (4) Monitoring budget execution to identify funding shortfalls and recommend necessary reprogramming actions; and (5) Providing technical advice to leadership on budgetary issues to support resource allocation and financial management strategies. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position, such as financial management. Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.
